New Tableware-Leaftrend

In an age when the environmental impact of man-made products is a growing concern for all of us, we cannot ignore the evils of disposable plastic, styrofoam, and even paper tableware. Take the innocent-looking plastic fork, for example. Did you know that it’s made from petroleum, takes up to 100 years to decompose, and during decomposition pollutes the soil with toxic substances?

The Evils of Styrofoam

Styrofoam disposable tableware is even worse. Also made from petroleum, a nonrenewable source, styrofoam takes up to 900 years to decompose in a landfill, making its legacy a heavy burden on the future generations, on our children and grandchildren. And if you think that at least tableware made from paper has to be better, just picture the trees that have to be felled for it to be made. Moreover, most plastic cups are coated with a petroleum-based substance to keep the liquids in it. That’s bad.

The Need For Change

The harsh truth is that most disposable tableware we use today comes from non-renewable sources, is hard to recycle, takes decades at least to decompose, and in short, fills our landfills, pollutes the environment, and can cause harm to birds and other animals. Disposable tableware made from plastic, styrofoam, and even paper is an absolutely terrible product for the environment.

But that doesn’t mean that disposable tableware should be banned. There are eco-friendly, affordable, even beautiful alternatives to standard tableware out there. Disposable tableware made from palm leafs is probably the best of them. Made from 100% fallen palm leaves, it’s 100% natural, 100% biodegradable (it can even be used as compost!), and 100% cool, looking great and being stronger than the average plastic tableware.

Palm Leaf Tableware – The Viable Alternative

It’s the responsibility of every one of us to take care of our planet and leave it in good shape for our children and the future generations. Choosing disposable palm leaf tableware over plastic, styrofoam, or paper tableware is one of the little things we can do today that will make a great difference tomorrow. Are you ready to go green? Are you ready to switch to palm leaf tableware?
